Expert Crawlspace Encapsulation in Junction, TX

Crawlspace encapsulation seals the space beneath your home against moisture, pests, and outside air. In Junction and the surrounding Hill Country, soil conditions and seasonal humidity swings push ground moisture upward into crawlspaces year-round. Left unsealed, that moisture softens wood floor joists, feeds mold growth, and pulls musty air up into the rooms where your family lives. The encapsulation process covers crawlspace floors and walls with a heavy-duty vapor barrier, seals foundation vents, and creates a controlled environment that cuts off the moisture cycle at its source. Better Base Solutions is locally owned and operated, so we know the soil and climate conditions that affect homes from Junction to Kerrville to Marble Falls. We walk you through every step of the process and explain exactly what we find before any work begins. We only recommend what your crawlspace actually needs. Call us to schedule an inspection.

Crawlspace Encapsulation FAQ

Common questions about crawlspace encapsulation in Junction, TX.

Common signs include musty odors inside the home, soft or sagging floors, and visible mold or moisture on wood framing under the house. Homes in Junction with dirt-floor crawlspaces are especially prone to ground moisture problems due to the area's soil and seasonal rain patterns.

Yes, sealing the crawlspace cuts off the moisture source that causes musty odors and prevents that air from rising into your living areas. Once the vapor barrier and vent seals are in place, air quality inside the home typically improves.

A sealed crawlspace is far less hospitable to termites, rodents, and other pests that thrive in damp, open spaces. Homes across the Hill Country, including those in Fredericksburg and Llano, benefit from this added layer of protection.

No, we only recommend encapsulation when the inspection shows it is actually needed for your home. Better Base Solutions does not sell work that is not warranted, and we explain our findings clearly before any decision is made.

Better Base Solutions did an outstanding job of replacing the rotted subfloor in our home. We have a pier and beam foundation and had noticed significant sagging and soft spots in our kitchen and living room. Curtis did an initial inspection and provided a repair bid promptly. His diagnosis and scope of work closely matched an engineer’s assessment of our problem. When the crew arrived, Curtis, Nate, Dalton and another young man worked diligently to remove all the damaged insulation from under our house. Once inside, they ripped out two layers of old flooring and the rotted subfloor. I was extremely impressed at the care they took to remove and reinstall a very large built in bookcase. It took a great deal of effort and maneuvering to move the bookcase without damaging it. The team was always respectful and professional, willing to help with anything we needed to get the job done. I would use Better Base Solutions again if the need arose and highly recommend them to anyone needing foundation work.

We purchased a much older home in Lampasas and discovered during the home inspection several piers needed replacement or repairs. We contacted 4 different companies. Curtis with CMC was one of the 3 that came out, met with us, and provided a proposal. Curtis was the most reasonable of them all. He was also the only one to tell us honestly we didn't need work the others were pushing. We wouldn't have known the difference and he could easily have told us we needed thousands of dollars of work but didn't. Curtis was professional, provided all quotes and contracts in writing, showed up as promised and kept us updated the entire time. We have already referred him to others and were incredibly pleased with him and his work.
